No Black Holes... Yet

CERN Press Release:
Geneva, 10 September 2008. The first beam in the Large Hadron Collider at CERN was successfully steered around the full 27 kilometres of the world’s most powerful particle accelerator at 10h28 this morning. This historic event marks a key moment in the transition from over two decades of preparation to a new era of scientific discovery.
Here's a news report from the UK Telegraph website explaining the LHC;

A full test with particle collisions will occur on October 21st 2008 potentially sucking us all into a man-made black hole, although even the great Stephen Hawking seems to think that's impossible. LIES!!! It's a mad plot to transport the entire planet to an alternate dimention where the Nazi's won WWII. Either that or it's a giant startup clock to a Dec 21 2012 doomsday event. YAY!
